Whether you like them brimming with fruit or leafy greens, we've got the freshest ideas for your smoothie fix. And feel free to power up any of these smoothies with healthy add-ins:

Proteins: peanut, almond, or cashew butter; soft silken tofu; whey powder
Omega-3 fats: chia seeds, ground flaxseed, shelled hemp seeds
Antioxidants: unsweetened cocoa powder, cinnamon (and other spices), wheat germ

Green Goddess Smoothie

Benefit: Protects vision with powerful antioxidants.

1 c baby spinach
1 c cucumber chunks
½ avocado, halved, pitted, and peeled
1 large kiwifruit, peeled and chopped
½ c frozen kefir (we used Lifeway) or low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
½ c fresh orange or tangerine juice
¼ c mint leaves

1 plum, halved, pitted, and quartered
1 nectarine, halved, pitted, and quartered
1 peach, halved, pitted, and quartered
½ c brewed white tea, chilled
½ c ice cubes
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
2-3 Tbsp honey
⅛ tsp cardamom (optional)

Benefit: Mangoes are best ripe! Don't toss fruits when they start to get mushy—that's when antioxidant levels peak (and taste is often sweetest). The overripeness won't matter once you blend them up.

1 c mango chunks
½ banana, chopped
1 tsp fresh lime juice
¼ tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 ice cube
2 tsp honey
2 c seedless watermelon chunks
